Our client is a multinational producer of equipment, for their European HQ we are now looking for an International Tax Manager
Job description:
Reporting to the Tax Director you will coordinates business and tax issues within the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region. This role will manage planning, compliance, and reporting in the region in various areas of tax. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Understand local Swiss tax requirements, maintain compliance with rulings and ensure Swiss filings accuracy
- Manages the Switzerland compliance process for local entities.
- Participates in various meetings and calls with legal, accounting and business personnel to address issues, questions, regarding changes to the structure of the company.
- Assist with transfer pricing matters including coordinating transfer pricing strategy, reporting, calculation, and compliance.
- Communicates results of tax research in various areas such as income, indirect, withholding or customs tax to provide business decision-makers with proposals for consideration.
- Work with global tax team and external counsel/tax advisors as needed to manage tax risks
- Support the EMEA controller in meeting local statutory requirements, including monthly or other tasks as required.
- Studies current and pending legislation to assess potential tax impact
- Assist with EMEA region controversy matters as well as support and/or manage local tax audits where applicable
- Assist in ensuring global tax compliance (filings, assessments, etc.) in EMEA
- Assist with US tax reporting and tax accounting process within EMEA including the review of local tax provisions
- Oversee the inter-company transfer pricing process
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Seeked profile:
University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics with further qualification as Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor or equivalent background
Excellent, proven knowledge and experience with international tax matters in a public accounting firm or a multinational enterprise
Self-starter with strong analytical/technical skills and attention to detail who is comfortable in a fast-paced, startup type environment and can handle multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to work independently
Effective communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Fluency in English is essential, German or other European languages appreciated.
Experience working with Oracle and with SOX compliance would be considered a plus
