In this position you shall be responsible within one of our big space projects for the organization of logistical issues, such as transports, deliveries and storage. You support the AIT Manager for the preparation and operation of facilities by interfacing with the facilities responsible both internally and externally to the company. You support the overall project organization in all logistical aspects of the Project Material flow.

Your tasks:

• Establishing the Material Flow Process for the project and maintain a database tracking the hardware items status for the project, covering expected deliveries, inventory, and required external deliveries.
• Permanent monitoring of the logistics process for improvement, analysis of potential optimizations and contribution to the definition and implementation of an appropriate logistics concept in the ERP Tool (e.g. SAP).
• Organization of any deliveries or transports between sites, including deliveries of Instrument and GSE to external test facilities and shipments to external parties (e.g. customers). This includes the management of all associated paperwork and the interfacing to carrier companies, including dealing with payments.
• Provision of general Logistical support, i.e. mid-term and long term planning for logistics related issues. This includes the generation of necessary procedures for e.g. Data base usage, Labelling, Goods in – Goods out handling, etc. and the purchasing of items needed during the AIT process.
• This role includes regular interaction with the project team as well as the related disciplines within the company organization.

Your qualifications

• Diploma in industrial engineering or similar (“Wirtschaftsingenieur” with focus on logistics. “Betriebswirt für Logistik”, etc.)
• Practical experience in Logistics Management within an industrial environment
• Organizational talent and strong problem solving skills
• High degree of motivation and personal identification with the respective task and project, readiness to take responsibilities
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work in teams
• Fluent written and oral English

Optional skills:

• Experience in the aerospace industry
• Practical Apprenticeship in a hands-on profession e.g. as precision or industrial mechanic
