Overview:
We are looking for a smart, detail-oriented Business Analyst Intern to support the German Kindle Content Team in driving demand and growing of our business. A successful candidate will have a strong bias for action, keen attention to details and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. He or she will be analytical, customer centric, resourceful, team oriented, an effective communicator, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines. This is a highly visible internship position in one of the most exciting business areas of the company.
Start date: August 1st, 2015
Length: 6 months
Primary Responsibilities Include:
* Developing and updating weekly reporting for the Kindle Content business, including support data and processes to support explanation of variances and business trends
* Collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders from Pricing, Vendor Managers, Product Managers, and leadership to ensure data consistency and rigor
* Automating and scaling existing reports and structures across all countries or marketplaces
* Conducting ad-hoc deep dives that span across multiple segments of the content business and presenting recommendations to management for strategic decision-making
* Working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, Red Shift, Essbase and/or Cognos)
Basic Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
* Advanced Excel skills
* Fluency in German
Preferred Qualifications
* Strong ability to take initiative and self-start when necessary
* Highly analytical and detail oriented
* Proactive, process- and results-driven, able to set priorities right and committed to deadlines
* Ability to work in cross-functional teams
* Strong leadership, and communication skills
* Proficiency in Oracle Financials, Essbase and Cognos
* SQL Tools, Microsoft Access skills preferred
* Fluency in at least 1 additional main European language (English, French, Italian, Spanish)
