Summary Growing team in Zurich City looking for a Senior Accountant who will have 2 accountants as direct reports Client Details Our client is an international player in the reinsurance industry Description Reporting to the VP Finance & Treasury and leading a Technical Accountant your main responsibilities will be: - Perform close of accounting system for the business unit, reconcile and analyse figures - Perform quarterly interface to the GL system - Coach and support the Technical Accountant - Participate in monthly financial reporting - Assist the preparation of management, statutory, and audited financial statements for the group related to the local unit - Support the preparation of budget and forecasts related to reinsurance and technical balances. - Quality review of premium and claims bookings - Establish, implement and maintain accounting control procedures - Support the year end financial statement audit processes - Assist the development and improvement of reporting systems required to monitor underwriting results Profile Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, CA) Minimum of 3 years of post qualification experience Insurance or reinsurance industry experience is a must You have technical knowledge of reinsurance treaties and terminology You have solid track record in monthly and yearly closing procedures, with strong background in General Ledger. Working knowledge of IFRS related to insurance. Strong computer skills, especially knowledge of Microsoft Office You have excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong work ethics, commitment to deadlines and ability to work outside normal working hours when required.
