(Senior) Front-end Performance Engineer (m/f) Our Architecture team is on hand to support every business unit with 15 back-end and front-end specialists providing the infrastructure for the development teams in Hamburg and Barcelona. We analyse the software in use, test and evaluate new technologies, and provide recommendations based on our findings. Join us in finding innovative solutions to technically complex challenges!A challenging task: Analyse existing performance problems of our web applications, suggest solutions and implement them. Design and develop a performance test cluster (externally hosted) for synthetic performance measurements, e.g. with Webpagetest.org. Help to improve existing real-user monitoring tools. Support and consult our development teams in reaching established performance goals. Program modern web front-ends using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, Sass and Compass on a high level.A convincing background: Motivated in front-end development with at least 5 years of experience and very good HTML and CSS skills. Profound knowledge of native JavaScript and related frameworks to a level which enables you to optimise performance. Advanced knowledge of DOM manipulation, AJAX, unit testing and familiarity with techniques such as Compass, Sass and Rails asset pipeline. Team player that can work autonomously and proactively with other engineers. Ideally experienced in Ruby on Rails, version control systems (git) and/or the UNIX shell. Very good English skills.
