We are looking for an experienced and motivated Python developer for enhancing and maintaining our Tornado/MongoDB powered web server. Familonet is the app for the most important social network in life - your family. With a smartphone app, the most important questions of everyday family life "Where are you?" and "How are you?" can be answered automatically. Familonet provides families enhanced safety and easier communication for more than 450k users. Familonet is a specialist for location services for mobile apps. Within the last 2 years Familonet has developed several extraordinary technologies, first and foremost the most accurate and reliable energy-saving geofencing technology. Your tasks › Implement new features for Familonet’s REST-API › Refactor existing code to improve maintainability and to enhance existing features › Optimize database structure and queries › Make sure our servers are running performantly and securely under heavy load Our technology stack › Nginx as a reverse proxy for load balancing › Tornado as application server › MongoDB as persistency layer › Redis as message queue › Ubuntu Linux as operating system › Nagios for monitoring Requirements › Strong hands-on experience with Python › Experience in developing scalable web applications › Experience with Tornado or similar asynchronous networking frameworks (Twisted, gevent, Node.js, Libevent, EventMachine) › Experience with MongoDB › Experience with communication technologies like RESTful web services or XMPP › Experience with Nginx, Redis and Linux system administration desirable but not required We are looking forward to meeting you via Skype or in person in our office in Sternstr. 97, 20357 Hamburg.
