(Senior) Ruby on Rails Developer (m/f) Core The XING Core Cluster builds the very heart of our social network, providing technological and directly user-facing products and underpinnings to everything XING does. Building highly visible and top-traffic applications that touch millions of users every day, we provide all other parts of the platform with internal services to create value for our users. The core cluster consists of around 30 people working in Development, Project Management, Product, UX and QA. We focus on helping our users get the most out of our network and market places, while developing new and improving existing products. And we are looking for you to help us! A challenging task: A highly responsible position, implementing sophisticated yet pragmatic additions to the XING platform to nurture our growing member base An awesome and professional cross-functional team in a mature and highly dynamic and agile development environment You'll act as a technical expert and play a leading role in our team as a back-end-focused RoR engineer who is not afraid to touch the front end and other, non-ruby technologies, whatever gets the job done Don’t fall in love with your solution – always challenge the status quo and be prepared to forge new paths, even if this means throwing away yesterday's best idea to make room for tomorrow's A convincing background: Ruby, RoR, Git, browser or mobile front end technologies, database experience. Other programming languages (Perl, ObjectiveC, JavaScript, Elixir) a plus; good understanding of underlying internet technologies. You’re a team player: know your skills, love to share them, know your boundaries and thrive to learn from and with your team. A good sense of humor, solid English skills and you are eager to work in a multicultural environment.
