The position is full-time. The API team sits right at the heart of XING. It makes XING functionality available on XING’s public API and takes care of the associated infrastructure. The API team thereby enables XING’s own mobile apps as well as external developers to serve end-users with useful and usable functionality. Especially mobile is key as it forms a large and growing share of XING’s traffic.As a person with a strong technical background and the desire to make a difference you will work closely with internal and external consumers of the XING API.A challenging task:Be part of defining the future of the leading professional social networking in German-speaking countries.Assume responsibility for the API as a product and its cross-functional team of engineers, QA managers, and scrum masters.With your team ensure our high standards of stability, performance and security of our API; enable and support the functionality our end-users appreciate; determine requirements, create roadmaps, manage APIs through their life cycles.Track your product’s metrics and derive the right insights to drive your product’s performance and user satisfaction.Cooperate with other departments within XING as well as with associated partners and external developers.A convincing background:Desire to build outstanding products that customers love.Ideally more than 3 years of professional experience as a Product Manager with a strong technical background or a Software Engineer with an entrepreneurial mind-set.Understanding of relevant products, technologies, trends in the market and current best practices – an advanced knowledge of what happens “under the hood” is key.Sound communication skills coupled with an excellent command of English and preferably German. N.B.: XING is a multi-cultural environment and English is the official communication language; many development teams work in English.Be keen to work with best-practice agile development methods - prior experience in this field is definitely a plus.An inspiring environment: XING offers a dynamic environment located in the centre of Hamburg.
