We are seeking a Knowledge Expert f/m - Cost Reduction/Lean Services - Operations Practice for our office in Munich PRACTICE AREA The Operations Practice area is one of BCG's eight functional practices. We help our clients create competitive advantage by enhancing their performance and building strategic capabilities. BCG's expertise in operations covers the following areas: supply chain management, procurement, lean manufacturing, service, cost efficiency, operational transformation, research and product development, and program management. RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for a candidate to fill a Knowledge Expert position within the Cost Reduction/Service Operations domain of our Operations Practice area. This practice area is one of BCG's eight functional practices. The Cost Reduction and Lean Services topics include expert networks of Knowledge Team members and experienced consultants who help our clients on specific service-related cases. The work will address the reduction of administrative costs of back office activities and the improvement of customer-facing service operations in all industries focused on service as a product. This position will manage a team of analysts to ensure support for BCG project teams and clients engaged in relevant work. Topic covered could include cost excellence in support functions, service process optimization, customer experience optimization, lean review of invoice financing process, reengineering end-to-end core processes, and activity-based optimization. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS You hold a master's degree or an advanced university degree in business administration, accounting/finance, or a similar field, and have demonstrated high academic achievements. You also have relevant work experience, e.g., specific knowledge of the operations space (cost reduction, service operations and process optimization/lean) or consulting experience, either in a multinational company or in a consultancy. You also have very good organizational skills and effective management skills. In addition, you are very strong in proactively and creatively thinking "outside the box," you are a self-starter, and you are highly solution-oriented. You possess outstanding analytical and communication skills, have an excellent command of the English and German language, a service-oriented approach, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, and you are able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks in parallel.
