Summary In this role, as an EMEA Region Procurement Category Manager you will be reporting to the Procurement Director EMEA with a dotted line responsibility to the Global Category Director. Client Details Our client is a leading global speciality chemical company. The European headquarters is based in Schaffhausen and to strengthen the growth of their procurement team we are exclusively recruiting a "Category Manager - Chemical Materials" Description - Sourcing materials for EMEA region and participating in the development and execution of global procurement strategy - Understanding the categories, analyzing the market, preparing sourcing strategies, using RFP processes, negotiating, implementing, and tracking results - Identifying, gaining commitment, and implementing profit improvement opportunities to create structural and sustained cost advantages - Developing "should cost" financial and predictive modeling tools to assist with decision making - Providing forward looking guidance on trends, threats, and opportunities throughout the complete value/supply chain - Creating contingency plans - Building positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders - Supporting new supplier qualifications to expand supply base - Utilizing e-technologies (i.e. reverse auctions, Internet research, Ariba, etc.) - Ensuring compliance with Safety, REACH, and Responsible Care programs Profile For this key position we are looking for a category expert with great organizational skills. - Minimum 5 years experience in sourcing/purchasing for a chemical company - University degree (Bachelor and/or Master in Business Administration) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred - Experience in global contracts and pricing management - Know-how in Low-Cost-Country Sourcing and experience in supplier development - Ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed organization - Excellent organization capabilities and project management skills - Problem solving skills with a focus on "can-do attitude" - Customer Service Orientation: Ability to identify, understand and give priority to satisfy the needs of internal and external customers - Quality Orientation: Ability and propensity to take action necessary to ensure all work is completed with accuracy and integrity - Proficiency in written and spoken English; fluency in one or more other European languages are preferred. - Ability to work in a matrix environment - Working knowledge of SAP - Data analysis skills: Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point Job Offer Our client will offer a competitive salary and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer
