We're always searching for new solutions. And people to help us find them. Senior Underwriter Structured Trade Finance (m/f) Underwriting position within a highly dynamic and successful team. The candidate will be part of the Structured Trade Finance team and will be a key contributor to growth of economic profit of Corporate Solution's Credit business. Main tasks will be managing and developing client relationships and generating new business applying a sound underwriting approach. The candidate will be responsible for generating a broad range of trade and commodity related business opportunities with a selected number of clients and to manage the end-to-end underwriting processes including legal review and execution. Integrity, accuracy and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced business environment are essential for this role. The opportunity * Contribute to develop and implement sales and underwriting strategies in Structured Trade and Commodity Finance * Handle sensitive client issues and lead internal processes to ensure swift delivery to client requests * Build up a network of contacts with key decision makers within the client's organization * Be responsible to underwrite new business opportunities by assessing credit and transactional risks, coverage aspects, terms and conditions and profitability/return * Prepare high quality transaction submissions and engage in approval discussions with confidence * Underwrite the business in accordance with Swiss Re's processes, procedures, approved business concepts and risk appetite * Negotiate best terms and conditions with the client to meet or exceed our return hurdles * Manage post underwriting tasks such as transaction monitoring, amendments, restructurings and claims coordination * Contribute to the development of appropriate underwriting standards * Contribute to monitoring, portfolio and cycle steering initiatives About you Professional Experience * Minimum 5 years' experience in originating, structuring and underwriting of Structured Trade and Commodity Finance including financings for commodity trading or processing companies and long term Oil&Gas and Mining Project Finance * Professional experience in dealing with Emerging Market clients, specialized banks, insurers and brokers * Working experience in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment * Dispose of established contacts and relationships with Commercial Banks or Companies active in Production, Trade and Processing of Commodities Technical skills * Strong financial acumen with deep capital/financial markets proficiency * Solid background in numerical and structured credit analysis including projections in cash flow based financing * Solid know-how of debt/loan markets as well as contractual risk mitigation tools * Proven track record in underwriting and risk analysis of complex finance structures Other competencies * Ensure regular knowledge exchange to assert a common business and underwriting approach across Credit & Surety teams * Drive innovation in product and process to maximize the result of the assigned business portfolio * Ability to work with people of all levels and cultures * Strong interpersonal skills (team player) with positive attitude and sense of humor * Self-motivated, very well organized and efficient, setting adequate priorities * Quality and solution oriented, persistent and thorough, creative/curious mind * Excellent communication and facilitation
