(Senior) PHP Developer (m/f) The XING Growth team helps prospects find our platform when they need it, onboard users easily and provide quick access to useful functions and features. This cross-functional team consists of around 30 people working in Development, Project Management, Product, User Experience and Quality Assurance. We mainly focus on finding the best way to help our users get the most out of our services in the shortest possible length of time, while also developing and improving products, and we want you to help us!A challenging task: A highly responsible position where you’ll help to shape a new technology landscape at XING, implement sophisticated yet pragmatic user-facing additions to the XING platform that help grow our member base. Spearhead a professional and cross-functional developer team in a mature and highly dynamic and agile development environment. You’ll be a full-stack web developer using PHP and browser front end and aren’t afraid to touch other technologies (i.e. Ruby) and learn the skills needed to get the job done. You shouldn’t fall in love with your solution – always challenge the status quo and be prepared to forge new paths, even if this means throwing away yesterday's best idea to make room for tomorrow's.A convincing background: Strong object-oriented PHP skills, experience with MVC frameworks (i.e. Agavi, Zend, Symfony2), some experience with front-end tech (HTML, CSS, JS), Git skills, some experience with NoSQL databases (couchdb); and a solid understanding of underlying internet technologies. Some Ruby / Ruby on Rails experience would be advantageous. You’re a team player: know your skills, love to share them, know your boundaries and thrive to learn from and with your team. You have a good sense of humour, solid English skills and are eager to work in a multicultural environment. We’re looking for a passionate developer with previous experience in building web applications that serve the user and scale as well. You love to maintain the cutting edge of software development. You like building products for users – be it for end users or another internal team.
